On 24th May, LMF proudly hosted its biggest and most glamourous event in our annual calendar, the incredible Market People Awards, now in it’s sixth year.

For us, the Market People Awards are what it’s all about, bringing together incredible professionals, friends and colleagues who make up our unique London Market. The Awards Night is one of 40+ events hosted by LMF every year. The Market People Awards has now become a firm favourite in the Market’s social calendar, as it’s all about the “people” and somewhat different from the normal awards nights, which can be far too commercially focused.

Over 200 individuals and firms were nominated during the lead up to the awards and we send sincere thanks to our wonderful Market judges, Mike Walsh – COO, Allied World, Christian Kitchen, CIO, Travelers, Nicole Mott, Senior Leader at the London Market Joint Ventures, Andrea Garcia-Beltran, Head of FINEX LATAM, WTW and Erik Douglass, Director of Change and Transformation, Aon. These Market leaders had an extremely difficult task in selecting the winning nominees, as there were so many great candidates this year.

We’d also like to thank our Headline Sponsors for 2023, The London Market Joint Ventures and all our sponsors and supporters.

200 London Market professionals, from C suite to apprentices and graduates, packed into the stunning and palacious Drapers’ Hall in the heart of the City of London, to celebrate EC3’s finest. The Awards are all about recognising those who go that extra mile to make a real difference and contribute to their teams, firms or the wider Market.

Guests on the night enjoyed an amazing gala drinks reception in the Rose Garden at Drapers Hall, to the sounds of our classical musicians and then proceeded to the Livery Hall, where guests were wowed with the grandeur and splendour of what is described by commentators, as “one of the most magnificent venues in London.

We’d like to congratulate our 20 winners this year, who enter the growing Market People Hall of Fame:

Market People Awards – Helping to support the wider community

The Market People Awards has always been about more than just the people of the London Market. Every year, LMF selects a charity to support. In 2022 we selected the London Ambulance Service Charity, supporting those men and women on the front line in the Capital, raising nearly £10,000 during the year. This year, we selected Mind in London, the mental health charity providing invaluable help, support and advice to people in London and beyond.

We are thrilled to advise, that with the generosity of the London Market Joint Ventures and all those at the Awards at Drapers’ Hall on 24th May, we managed to raise £10,000 in the one evening. I recently had the immense privilege of visiting Mind’s East London Operations and presenting their CEO, Vanessa Morris, with the cheque, for which they have earmarked some important community projects, including assisting young Muslim gentlemen who are in need of mental health support and advice.

The 2023 Market People Awards was our biggest and best ever Awards night – a true community affair, involving 200+ insurance professionals from Executive Leaders to underwriters and brokers, along with musicians, singers, magicians, artists and our very own Market band, the Leopards of Lime Street. A huge thank you to everyone who made it such an enjoyable occasion.

LMF has already started on plans for the 2024 Awards, taking place on 22nd May. If you’d like to be part of this incredible celebration of the talent and firms we have in EC3, do get in touch with us at info@lmforums.comLMF, bringing insurance professionals together.
