LMF, in partnership with Aon, are delighted to announce a brand new conference, exclusively for underwriters, reinsurers, Manging Agents and Lloyd’s professionals – Legacy 2.0, taking place at the historic Bishopsgate Institute in the City of London on 20th March at commencing at 3pm. This Market gathering will appeal to a range of professionals from underwriting leaders to Chief Risk Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Actuaries and Heads of Claims.
This inaugural, free to access London Market event will see the legacy and run off market coming together at a time of significant activity, both in terms of transactions and oversight. We’ll hear from Chairman of Aon Reinsurance Solutions, Dominic Christian, who will enjoy a fireside chat about the new legacy oversight principles with Rachel Turk, Chief Underwriting Officer at Lloyd’s.
With over $15B of reserves transferred to specialist RITC Syndicates in recent years, legacy solutions are viewed by the Corporation and market participants as a core component of the recycling of capital within the Lloyd’s ecosystem.
Legacy solutions are typically used to reduce earnings volatility and optimise capital, particularly in the attractive underwriting conditions that currently prevail across large areas of the market. Increased M&A activity is also generating additional demand for legacy solutions as buyers / sellers look to ‘box-off’ the risks associated with historic underwriting.
At Legacy 2.0? you will hear from all relevant stakeholders – the Corporation, cedants, reinsurers and managing agents – who will provide their perspectives on the current market environment, the potential impact of the recent changes that the Corporation has outlined for the oversight process for market participants, along with their views on the future direction of the legacy marke
Anyone who’s been at a LMF event before over the last 10 years will know that we work hard to make these sessions highly interactive, informative and thought provoking, with a real community feel and with lots of opportunities to make new friends and contacts.
