London Market People Awards 2025 - An evening in the City like no other
On Thursday 26 June 2025, more than 320 guests gathered at the stunning Plaisterers’ Hall for the 8th annual London Market People Awards, produced by LMF. With a glittering Great Gatsby 1920s theme, it was our biggest celebration yet — growing from 220 attendees in 2024 — and an evening filled with glamour, music, and heartfelt recognition of the amazing talent across the Lloyd’s and London Insurance Market.
What makes these awards truly special is that they are industry-led: nominations come from the Market community and every judge is a Market practitioner, including many past winners. These are, quite simply, the people’s awards of the London Market.
Celebrating Excellence
Across 22 categories, the evening honoured individuals, teams and suppliers making an outstanding contribution to our community.
Highlights of the night included:
- A standing ovation for Joe Dainty’s wife, who presented the Joe Dainty Memorial Award to Simon Squires (AXA XL).
- Vicky Carter (Guy Carpenter & Deputy Chairman at Lloyd’s) receiving the Market People Outstanding Contribution Award.
- Dave Matcham (former CEO, IUA) honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Giving Back
An important part of each Market People Awards is supporting our chosen charity partner. This year, guests helped raise over £6,200 for Support Dogs, funding their vital work. In September, the LMF team visited their new HQ in Sheffield to proudly present the cheque.
A Night to Remember
Guests stepped back into the Roaring ’20s with a stunning gala reception, live West End singers, a colourful dance troupe, a beautifully crafted dinner and, of course, the awards ceremony itself. The celebrations concluded with the always-popular Winners’ After Party.
